This statement is to promote cooperation in internships aimed at supporting technical and vocational training.

This initiative targets youth from poor and vulnerable families, providing them with stable employment and decent income opportunities.

This collaboration will also provide a broad scope for human resources development across various sectors, focusing on key activities such as workshops, technical and vocational trainee internships, and other important activities that strengthen the capacities and productivity to serve Cambodia’s labor market.

Mr. Fukuhara Koji, President of JBAC, highlighted that this MOU will pave the way for professional trainee internships at Japanese companies in Cambodia. This collaboration also enhanced capacity building and provided opportunities for trainees to absorb skills and knowledge from these companies.

Addressing the ceremony, His Excellency Heng Sour, Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, emphasized that these internships are not only about skill development but also about working environment learning besides school provided. Furthermore, he encouraged Japanese entrepreneurs to send their staff to attend the skill development course to increase productivity with flexible schedules in the national training programs offered free of charge by the royal government.

This MOU between the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and JBAC is another new agreement followed by MOU with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and 17 employers’ associations in November 2023, which aimed to provide opportunities for young Cambodians who have studied technical skills to gain practical work experience.
