Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 26 – Spokesperson of the Royal Government of Cambodia addressed and clarified four points regarding the Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA) on 25 July 2024.

In response to baseless and misleading statements, the Spokesperson clarified that there is no cessation of Cambodia’s four provinces to Viet Nam, as alleged by a small number of extremist groups. Additionally, there is no sharing of four Cambodian provinces with neighbouring countries through the CLV DTA and formed into one territory as claimed or misconceived by some deluded people.

The Spokesperson also underlined that there is no joint investment in the natural resources, such as minerals and forests, of the four provinces, as mentioned by some. Furthermore, no citizens from any country are allowed to freely enter and leave the territory of the CLV-DTA.

Under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Royal Government introduced the Pentagonal Strategy Phase One, aiming to achieve the vision of Cambodia 2050 as a high-income country. The government has pledged to enhance socioeconomic and political stability and to safeguard national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity at any cost.
